CHARITIES WE DIRECTLY SUPPORT

Ronald McDonald House - Provides housing and food for families with children being treated for serious illnesses at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene.

Open Arms Pregnancy Care Center and Real Choices Clinic - A Christian-based organization in Coeur d'Alene that provides compassion, information and support to mothers, often young, single moms facing the challenge of an unexpected pregnancy.  The center also provides ultra-sound services.

Tesh, Inc. - Supports people of all ages with disabilities who are seeking greater independence, self sufficiency and participation in their community.

St. Vincent DePaul Warming Center - When the outside temperature drops to below 28 degrees, the Warming Center located in Post Falls opens its doors to the homeless.  The facility can house up to 34 men and women.

St. George's Knights Christmas Fund - Funds provided to St. George parishioners that need support during Christmas time.

Safe Start - An organization that promotes safe infant sleep and vehicle transportation by providing education and car seats to new parents.

Post Falls Food Bank - Operates a food market serving up to 100 families per day.  Provides food for a backpack program ensuring that children have food to take home and supplies area soup kitchens and other organizations that provide meals for the homeless.  Programs sponsored by the Food Bank benefit an estimated 60,000 citizens right here in Kootenai County.

St. Georges Mission of Charity - Provides financial support as well as other care to Post Falls residents in need of such assistance.

Children's Village - Provides housing and counseling services to children that are removed from their homes due to neglect or physical or sexual abuse.

Newby-Ginnings - A Post Falls based organization that assists Gold Star families as well as current and former active duty military personnel.

Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho - Supports programs making it easier for low income families to become homeowners.

Anna Schlindler Foundation - A Post Falls based organization that provides financial and emotional support to families with a child facing cancer.  Also provides housing for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Holy Family School Success Program - Generates funds for families (both Catholic and Non-Catholic) that want to send their children to Holy Family Catholic School.  The fund guarantees that children can attend the school regardless of income.

Special Needs Recreation of North Idaho - Much like Special Olympics, supports those with mental and physical disabilities through athletic participation.  However, this organization provides support directly to residents of Kootenai County.

Safe Passage - Assists victims of physical violence and sexual assault.

Union Gospel Center For Women and Children - An organization that assists mothers and their children with housing, education and career opportunities.

Knights of Columbus Coats For Kids Program - Provides coats and other winter clothing for underprivileged children.
