WHO WE ARE
Our Roots
In 1999, the Knights of Columbus Council 12560 was chartered. Our mission is to support St Georges Catholic Church in Post Falls, Idaho as well as the community in which we live. There are currently 130 active members of our council. Led by our worthy Grand Knight and our Worthy Chaplain, Father Sleeva Madanu, we strive to serve our church, our parishioners and our community through a variety of programs and activities. We are very much a part of the Knights of Columbus Faith In Action Program with our activities centered around Faith, Family, Community and Life. As a council, we strive everyday to pursue the virtues of Charity, Unity and Fraternity.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
All Hallows Eve is the anniversary of the Beatification of the founder of the Knights of Columbus, the Parish Priest, Father Michael McGivney. He was beatified on October 31, 2020 during the COVID restrictions, oddly appropriate since he died during the flu epidemic of 1890. At the Mass, attended by about 200 people in Hartford's Cathedral of Saint Joseph, an apostolic letter from Pope Francis was read which stated that Father McGivney's, "zeal for the proclamation of the Gospel and generous concern for the needs of his brothers and sisters made him an outstanding witness of Christian solidarity and fraternal assistance."
The Holy Father has set his annual feast day for Aug. 13, the day between Fr. McGivney's birthday (in 1852) and the day he entered eternal life (in 1890). The miracle approved by the Vatican was the healing of a child in utero of a fatal condition. You can watch a video on this miracle here: https://youtu.be/Xa4uj9ly8dM
Please remember Blessed Michael McGivney and pray for his canonization. Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us!

Since then, it has grown into a major fundraiser not only for our council but for several charity-based groups in our local area that rely upon our donations to carry out their mission(s).
